How HandCash is about to completely change the digital economy

Using the BSV blockchain is not only about making payments faster and easier but fundamentally changing how we interact with the economy, says Rafa Jiménez, Co-Founder and CTO of HandCash.

HandCash is a Metaverse wallet, but Jiménez noted that the ultimate goal is to build a Metaverse economy, helping companies to explore new monetisation models with the least possible effort and risk.

‘Once you are in HandCash, you can take advantage of electronic cash with low fees, instant payments, and it works person to person. But before getting there, you need to top up your wallet. So it’s kind of this transition from the legacy payment methods to these new payment methods.’

This is where HandCash comes in as it allows people to top up their wallets with credit or debit cards, and start spending in the metaverse. ‘This is such an important feature for people to transition from the old economy to the new economy,’ said Jiménez.

Spending and earning Bitcoin with HandCash

The key to this experience is getting users to test and try out HandCash for themselves, said Jiménez.

‘Once people get to experiment, this idea of connecting your wallet to any app or any game, they can trigger any payment and they can spend and earn. This is a magic moment and I think this is where people really understand what HandCash can do for them and how it can be part of their daily life.’

Jiménez added that HandCash has built-in incentives where users are paid for topping up and using their wallets and encouraging friends to do so.

‘Every time a person tops up their wallet, let’s say it’s a top-up of $100, you’re going to make $0.25 out of this. So it’s a very cool incentive for people to onboard friends. Or if you’re an influencer, you can bring people to the ecosystem.’

A game-changer in the digital economy

While online payments are not a unique concept, Jiménez noted that having actual cash online will be a game-changer for how people earn, spend and interact with the economy.

‘Having actual cash on the Internet enables so many new business opportunities and so many ways of monetising that were not possible before,’ he said. ‘We think that completely changes the ecosystem, especially in the gaming industry. But it’s also very important in how this innovates and affects the user experience.’

Jiménez reiterated that this is not only an opportunity to change how people interact with businesses online but to reinvent how payments work on the Internet.

He noted that traditionally money goes directly from a user’s pocket to a game or online platform.

‘What we are unlocking now with actual cash is that the money can go from one user to another user, they can exchange any service or goods, and the platform gets a cut.

‘So again, this is enabling so many new opportunities and business models, and it still keeps the right incentives, because platforms are making money and people are still willing to provide something that has value.’
