Quality Assurance Analyst

Role

As a Junior Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be tasked with testing and validating applications through various methodologies such as user interface, API, end-to-end, and regression testing. Key responsibilities include configuring testing environments, writing and executing test cases, creating user stories and defects, as well as reporting test findings and metrics. You will collaborate with software development resources including Developers, Business Analysts, Product Management, and certain levels of management. Synerio Technologies employs numerous cutting-edge technologies. The application environments encompass client-server, enterprise web, and browser-based solutions operating within cloud environments.

Job Tasks:

• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and post-production releases.
• Analyze and interpret design specifications, business requirements, and end-user feedback to apply information to the testing process.
• Create robust test plans and test cases based on application specifications and automate tests where possible.
• Perform User Interface, Functional, Integration, and Regression and other testing methods as required.
• Document and discuss test execution results and create defect-tracking records for discovered issues.
• Collaborate with Support and Development teams to research and test production issues.
• Conduct software demonstrations and cross-training sessions.
• Other miscellaneous duties as identified by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Basic understanding of software testing principles and techniques.
• Gain or have experience in configuring and setting up testing environments.
• Gain proficiency in SQL for reviewing test data.
• Strong analytical skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving ability.
• Efficient use of business software like Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Effective time-management skills and ability to comply with project deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization, including team members, management, customers, and third-party vendors

Preferred Skills

• Recent, formal testing experience.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies, including SCRUM.
• Experience with API testing concepts.
• Familiarity with test management tools like Quality Center or similar.
• Experience with application lifecycle management tools like JIRA.
