Champions Trading Card Game comes to life with store rollout

Champions TCG has started its store rollout, enabling players to buy physical cards of the popular NFT based trading card game. In this article, we present you the latest updates and give you an overview of the game that is pioneering the genre by combining the digital and physical elements of trading card games in an entirely new way.

Physical store rollout

Players can now buy a 6-pack bundle for $19.99 across selected stores in the US. The cards allow people to redeem their cards online and own an NFT of their card in their selected wallet. The NFTs can be used to build decks to play online.

To get started, players can visit www.ChampionsTcg.com/app, create an account and start building their deck of 35 cards and play. This fusion of tangible and digital gameplay offers a unique experience for trading card enthusiasts.

The store rollout is an on-going campaign and interested store owners can contact Champions TCG through their Discord.

Latest developments

Earlier this year, Champions of Otherworldly Magic minted a million digital cards on the BSV blockchain with the help of HandCash, making it the largest NFT collection on any public blockchain. ChampionsTCG is picking up momentum and claims to be the fastest growing game of its genre.

In an episode of Bitcoin Builders, Champions TCG founding partner Miles Malec revealed that Champions TCG is primarily focused on offering a game that is fun to play as opposed to catering to NFT collectors that invest into digital assets to speculate on value.

Due to this, Champions TCG relies on the BSV blockchain to mint card NFTs at the fraction of the cost that other blockchains would require. Due to this, cards cost typically less than a dollar to be affordable for everyone.

However, the game is blockchain agnostic by itself and allows players to import the NFTs to whichever blockchain they prefer. Besides HandCash, currently five other wallets can be connected via the online app of Champions TCG.

Community driven approach

The Champions TCG team pursues a community-based approach as a strategy for success. From the very beginning, feedback was important for the development of the game, both from players and from the shops, which play an important role in the game culture as a meeting place for local communities.

The game makers are offering the shops attractive conditions for the rollout, as mentioned in their tweet above. In the interesting talk at Bitcoin Builders, Malec also discussed what other benefits are possible or planned for the future.

Interesting events and competitions are also regularly organised for the online community. These are announced in the Discord or on the Champions TCG blog.
