BSV Blockchain Ambassador and Timechain Labs CEO Rohan Sharan was recently invited to MIT World Peace University during the celebration of Basant Panchami to discuss the benefits of blockchain. As part of the event, Timechain Labs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University to further advance academic initiatives around blockchain.
‘The workshop was organised for the students of the Master’s programme in blockchain at the MIT WPU computer science department, to have an introductory session for students to be in sync with the latest developments of the blockchain world with industry exposure and foresight,’ explained Sharan.
‘We have also embarked on a separate week-long faculty development programme for the professors of the university, scheduled for 6 May 2024. We are also in talks to inaugurate the blockchain innovation lab in the university at the end of the FDP programme. The innovation lab would have free access to blockchain tools, technologies, workshops, guest lectures and problem statements to carry out research and development.’
As India’s digital economy is slated to reach $1 trillion, emerging technology such as the BSV blockchain is becoming the bedrock for India’s economic vision. This transformation is not just about economic growth; it’s a pivotal enabler of improved governance across the nation.
The BSV blockchain will redefine how industries operate by optimising operations, enhancing efficiencies, and unlocking a world of new possibilities for the country. In this digital age, India’s forward-looking approach is propelling it to shape a connected and prosperous society.
Education initiatives
Sharan noted that the MoU means that blockchain development will now be included in the University’s curriculum.
‘Students will learn about blockchain’s technical architecture from the first principles of network theory covering different types of networks and how mandala networks solve the blockchain trilemma as scale-free networks with economies of scale,’ said Sharan.
‘They will be developing a strong framework of understanding and navigating the landscape of blockchain applications, use cases, and solutions independently. They would be getting insights on the cutting-edge research opportunities available in the blockchain space to conduct research and publish papers on as part of their master’s programme.’
Learning about the BSV blockchain
‘Initiatives like these are crucial for the awareness and education about the strong technical underpinnings of blockchain, bringing clarity and direction, which is very much needed in a mystified space, leading to significant adoption among developers and builders in the youth of India,’ said Sharan.
Those interested in learning more about the fundamentals of blockchain and its history are encouraged to sign up for the BSV Academy’s courses.
